ReSeed-1: Genesis Drop

Mission #001

ReSeed-1: Genesis Drop

Location

Evros Region, Alexandroupoli, Greece

250 Trees Planted
450 Flowers Planted

About This Mission

The site had experienced a wildfire many years prior, leading to long-term ecological degradation. Although partial natural recovery had occurred, vegetation remained sparse. This area was selected for ReSeed's first test flight to assess drone performance and seed-dispersion accuracy. A limited number of seed bombs were deployed to support natural regeneration and gather data for future large-scale missions.

Challenges & Learnings

Challenges

As ReSeed's first test flight, the mission primarily focused on evaluating core drone functionalities. Several challenges emerged, including minor instability caused by wind gusts and initial calibration errors in the flight control system. Additionally, the seed release timing required refinement, as dispersion density varied across the test area.

Learnings

These early obstacles provided valuable insights into flight dynamics, drop altitude, and payload control. The data collected informed critical design improvements for subsequent missions, particularly in stabilizing flight patterns and optimizing seed deployment mechanisms.
