Mission #002

ReSeed-2: Green Horizon

Location

Island of Evia, Greece

450 Trees Planted
600 Flowers Planted

About This Mission

Mission 2 was conducted a few kilometers from the initial test site of Mission 1, within the same broader post-fire ecosystem. The area exhibited similar signs of partial regeneration but with larger sections still lacking vegetation. Building on insights from the first mission, this operation involved an expanded seeding effort, deploying a greater number of seed bombs and a wider variety of native species to enhance reforestation density and biodiversity.

Challenges & Learnings

Challenges

During this mission, varying wind conditions and uneven terrain affected flight stability and seed dispersion accuracy. Minor calibration issues in the drone's drop mechanism also resulted in uneven seed distribution across certain areas.

Learnings

Through post-flight analysis, the team identified altitude and wind speed as key factors influencing seed bomb trajectory. These findings led to adjustments in the flight algorithm and a redesign of the release mechanism to improve precision and consistency in future missions.
