Mission #010
ReSeed-10
Location
Pindus Mountains, Central Greece
About This Mission
ReSeed-10 was conducted several weeks after the previous missions in a large, recently designated project area. This mission marked the third of five planned operations within the site. Software improvements implemented on the drones enabled more precise flight paths and optimized seed-release timing. The mission aimed to continue reforestation efforts and enhance pollinator-supportive planting, deploying a mix of native trees and flowering plants to accelerate ecosystem recovery across the expansive landscape.
Challenges & Learnings
Challenges
Despite improvements, challenges included managing flight coverage over a very large area and ensuring even seed distribution across varying terrain. Occasional wind gusts and minor elevation changes required in-flight adjustments.
Learnings
The upgraded software allowed for more stable and accurate seed deployment, demonstrating the benefits of iterative technical improvements. Lessons from this mission reinforced strategies for planning multi-flight operations in extensive areas and highlighted the importance of integrating software optimization with field conditions to maximize ecological impact.
